The Missionary Sisters of Service warmly invite family, friends and all who have been touched by the life and ministry of Fr John Corcoran Wallis to join us as we remember, give thanks and celebrate the 25th anniversary of his death.

Fr John Wallis (1910–2001) was the visionary founder of the MSS and a much-loved priest of the Archdiocese of Hobart. Throughout his life he was deeply committed to bringing hope, friendship and the Gospel to people on the margins, and his vision continues to inspire the mission of our women today.

All are warmly welcome to join us for this special celebration:

Sunday 2 August 2026
10.30am Mass at St Thomas the Apostle Church
57 Central Road, Blackburn, Victoria

The Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Mark Freeman, Diocese of Ballarat, followed by a light luncheon in the parish school hall from 11.30am.

RSVP is essential for catering purposes by Friday 24 July 2026 to Catherine Carr: coordinator@missionarysisters.org.au

A second celebration will also be held in Hobart, Tasmania, on Tuesday 27 October 2026 at St Mary’s Cathedral, providing another opportunity to honour Fr John’s enduring legacy.
