We have another wonderful good news story! Geraldine Vytilingam, who received the MSS scholarship in honour of Fr John Wallis’ 90th Ordination Anniversary and who finished her Master of Theological Studies at the end of last year, has received the Catholic Theological College 2025 Master’s Prize.
The Master’s Prize, valued at $500, recognises a student who has made a significant and valued contribution to the life of the College. This year’s awardee, Geraldine Vytilingam, recently completed her Master of Theological Studies at CTC, with the award being presented at the annual Mass and dinner held earlier this month.
Writing about the event, Professor Gabrielle McMullen AM, Deputy Chancellor of University of Divinity, said: ‘The Catholic Theological College annual Mass and dinner are a significant occasion in the College’s year. This year’s celebration was held on Thursday, 5 June with Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Carlton followed by dinner at the adjacent Corpus Christi Seminary. As a significant occasion honouring the College’s academic achievements, CTC academic staff and official guests from the University of Divinity processed in academic regalia at the opening of the Mass. During the evening, this year’s CTC graduates of University of Divinity degrees were recognised and the College’s academic prizes, including the Master’s Prize, awarded.’
Speaking on behalf of the MSS, Stancea Vichie, wrote: ‘Geraldine, we are so thrilled for you and are aware of the long hours of work you put into your overall studies in 2023 and 2024, especially into your Minor Thesis. We wish you all the very best with plans you will make for the future.’
Responding to all of the messages of praise from our community of women, our stewardship council members and Emerging Futures Collaborative Staff, Geraldine wrote:
‘Thank you so much for all the warm wishes and congratulations from the MSS team! It’s such a joy to share in this award with you all, and is a testament again to your support, investment and belief in me! It was great to celebrate with fellow graduates and staff on Thursday night, and a lovely way to bookend this period of my Masters.’
Congratulations again, Geraldine, from all of us. We are so happy for you, and proud of all you’ve achieved.
