We’re pleased to share with you our latest Highways and Byways – Healing the Land, Healing Ourselves, Together and Missionary Sisters of Service newsletter. Again, we’re diversifying our distribution methods with there being both an online eNewsletter for the MSS, and an online newsletter for Highways and Byways, plus a downloadable (and printable) PDF that combines the two sets of news.
In this edition, Highways and Byways (the MSS’s mission entity) announce the recipients of its 2023 small grants, and share news from some of the beneficiaries of last year’s program. They also provide an update on the progress of its major partnership programs including news (and a video) from its Seeds of Connection program in Queensland and the Restoring Nature and Communities and Free2B Girls programs in Tasmania. There is a lot planned for the coming months, so the newsletter details the Yarck to Yea Walk/Ride/Run in Victoria, the John Wallis Memorial Lecture in Tasmania, and the Toowoomba Lecture in Queensland.
From our community of women, you’ll see stories about our celebrations for the 79th anniversary of MSS formation, and our commitment to support Constitutional change to create an Indigenous Voice to Parliament. We also acknowledge the humble service of Pat Kelly MSS, share the sad news of the death of Beryl Gleeson MSS, and provide a reflection by Corrie van den Bosch MSS.
