September 1 to October 4 is the Season of Creation, with the theme ‘Listen to the voice of Creation’. During this time, Pope Francis invites us to ‘reaffirm [our] personal vocation to be stewards of creation, to thank God for the wonderful handiwork which he has entrusted to our care, and to implore his help for the protection of creation, as well as his pardon for the sins committed against the world in which we live.’*
With this in mind and heart, we will be hosting a series of Sunday Pauses on the following dates, where we can stop, reflect and appreciate anew the wonder of the Cosmos, of Earth as a living planet and our place in it all.
The Pauses will be offered on Zoom, from 4pm to 4.40pm.
Our presenters will be:
Sunday, September 4: Barbara Daniel pbvm: Creation and the Discoveries of Modern Science: A New Creation Story
Sunday, September 11: Sherry Balcombe: Aboriginal Spirituality of Country
Sunday, September 18: Sally Neaves: The Patterns in Nature which serve the Community of Life
Sunday, September 25: Corrie van den Bosch MSS: Our Cosmic Roots: From the Big Bang to a Living Planet and Us
Sunday, October 2: Rose Thomas: Eco-Spirituality and the Mystics
