Corrie van den Bosch MSS has found a new way to share her writing, stories and reflections, recently joining Substack where readers can follow her work as it unfolds.

At the heart of Corrie’s new Substack is her book, Graced Beyond Telling, which she is sharing in small bites each week. Since the book was published, a number of readers have told Corrie how her story spoke to them and helped them better understand aspects of their own experience—something that has brought much joy to Corrie and the MSS.

For Corrie, this response affirms something she has long sensed about the story she has written.
‘I always sensed that the story was more than just my personal experience. It is a human story. Each of us has our own unique version of it.’

Alongside excerpts from Graced Beyond Telling, Corrie will occasionally share parts of her story that did not make it into the published book, as well as articles and reflections.

Reflecting on Mary Magdalene

Among Corrie’s recent writing is a reflection on Mary Magdalene (who’s feast day we celebrated on 22 July) and whom Corrie describes as her “favourite saint”. Mary Magdalene has occupied much of Corrie’s thinking and reading over recent months, particularly since Stancea Vichie MSS gifted her an icon of Mary Magdalene that Stancea had painted. In the icon, Mary Magdalene holds a jar of precious ointment. For Corrie, the image carries particular significance.

‘For me, that ointment symbolises her total giving of herself in love to her beloved Master,’ Corrie says.

Corrie has written a reflection on Mary Magdalene for the Contemplative Evolution Network in July, titled ‘Fire Woman Rising’. In it, Corrie reflects on Mary Magdalene as the feminine embodiment of Christ. ‘I hope it inspires you as it inspires me,’ she says. Read the full reflection on the Contemplative Evolution Network website, here. You can also read Corrie’s recent reflections on Mary Magdalene through her Substack page.
