Friends, we’re pleased to share with you our MSS July 2024 eNewsletter, which features news of our ongoing celebrations to mark our 80-year anniversary of foundation. You can also download a PDF version of the MSS’s July newsletter, here.

We’ve held several events to mark this significant year including two book launches of Graced Beyond Telling: A Soul’ Dark Journey by Corrie van den Bosch MSS, in Melbourne and Hobart and our celebrations in Melbourne on 7 July at St Thomas the Apostle Parish in Blackburn. Recently, Pat Quinn MSS wrote a beautiful reflection in Horizons magazine (the official journal of the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba) about our significant milestone and highlighted that in 2024 we also celebrate the 60-year anniversary of foundation of the MSS in the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba and we also share a beautiful reflection on the life and mission of Pat Brain MSS.

For these stories, and so much more, see the MSS’s eNewsletter, here.

The July 2024 Highways and Byways newsletter announces the successful applicants for the 2024 Small Grants Program, supporting 33 communities across Australia. Excitement builds for the Yarck to Yea Walk/Run/Ride on July 27th, marking the Missionary Sisters of Service’s 80th anniversary. The newsletter highlights the Seeds of Connection gathering for Indigenous women, ongoing regeneration work by Restoring Nature and Communities, and a field day promoting sustainable farming in Inverell, NSW. Discover the establishment of a seed bank in Jimboomba, Queensland, and cultural connection trips to the Macquarie Marshes, NSW, for local Indigenous people.

You can also access the July 2024 eNewsletter of our mission entity, Highways and Byways, here.

Each edition of our eNewsletter (and that of Highways and Byways) also features a short video clip with some words from our sisters. Here, Betty McManus MSS shares what drew her to the MSS and what have been the main expressions of her mission.
